In his lecture, Master Burrows examines aspects of the work of a Supreme Court Justice that may not be fully appreciated from the outside. Matters of substantive law (e.g. statutory interpretation and the law/fact distinction) are looked at as well as aspects of practice within the Court (e.g. the process for producing judgments).
It is with great sadness that we inform you that Master Ian Murphy sadly passed away on Friday 10 March 2023, aged 73.
Master Murphy was Called to the Bar in 1972, taking Silk in 1992. He was made a Bencher in 2001.
It is with much regret that we report the death of Master Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi, who passed away on 2 March, aged 90. Master Ahmadi was an Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple and former Chief Justice of India.
It is with great sadness that we must inform you that Master Michael Rich sadly passed away, aged 89. Master Rich was Called to the Bar in 1958, took silk in 1980 was made a Bencher in 1985.

In this full-time role (40 hrs pw), reporting to the Operations Manager, your role would be to assist in the delivery of high standard and cost-effective events and food service for the Inn’s own members events. To work closely with our event suppliers in the delivery of successful private events and weddings. To ensure that all event spaces within Middle Temple are looked after during the set-up, event delivery and breakdown. To manage all kitchen and service staff in the delivery of events and control all beverages consumed.

In this fulltime role (37.5 hrs p/w) reporting to our Head of IT, you will be working in conjunction with the Technical Support Analyst, in a predominantly Microsoft environment, you will be the first point of contact for any IT issues that arise. You will ensure that calls are logged in the service desk and see them through to resolution. You will be responsible for managing IT resources and the cloud technologies that support the business, to ensure the Inn’s technology & infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
