By Rail/Tube: We are within easy walking distance of Temple underground station (Circle and District lines) and Blackfriars Mainline Rail (First Capital Connect).
By Bus: Buses 4,15,23, 26, 76 and 341. Alight at the stop closest to the Royal Courts of Justice in Strand.
The Middle Temple’s spectacular historic buildings, cobbled streets and atmospheric gas lighting mean it lends itself as an ideal filming location whether it is for the latest blockbuster, television advert or product launch. Recent film productions at Middle Temple have included The Da Vinci Code, Sherlock Holmes, Bridget Jones II and Pirates of the Caribbean as well as other period drama series and advertisements.
ACCESS INTO AND AROUND THE INN
The Middle Temple estate rises steadily from The Victoria Embankment northwards to Fleet Street/Strand. The incline, along the length of Middle Temple Lane, is not severe. The Lane gives access to all parts of the Inn save for 1 & 2 Garden Court.
These buildings can only be reached using the stairs adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Building (QEB) or those from Fountain Court. This is an issue which we are seeking to resolve in 2018/19.
Rules and Guidance
Middle Temple has a gender neutral dress code.
Events in Hall are formal occasions and everyone attending should be appropriately dressed, having regard to the nature of the occasion. If you bring guests, please remember to make them aware of the dress code.
Business Attire
An institution such as the Bar, with its traditions and formality, can appear daunting. This scheme aims to connect student members with practitioners to provide them with an initial link to the profession and the Inn.
These residential weekend courses provide intensive advocacy training. They are also very over-subscribed and places are allocated by ballot. For that reason (and without wishing to discourage anyone) we emphasise that applications should only be made by those who are committed to:

The main opportunity to moot at Middle Temple comes from our annual Rosamund Smith Competition.
Other opportunities include an annual moot with Pepperdine University, held at the Royal Courts of Justice and the Middle Temple Vis Moot team who enter the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Details are below.
In addition, we need students to act as timekeepers for the Rosamund Smith Competition - see details below.
The scheme gives students the opportunity to marshal with a judge (sit with him or her on the bench in court), usually for between one to three days, occasionally longer. As well as showing a different perspective on the courtroom itself, it can be an opportunity to speak to the judge informally, which can give further insight into the case at hand and the workings of a court more generally.
Our judicial members participating in the scheme do so voluntarily. We are very grateful for their time and expect students to approach any placement with professionalism and courtesy.
