Winners of the Shakespeare Cup
Shakespeare Cup 2024
Congratulations team Middle Temple
For the third time in row Middle Temple has won the “Shakespeare Cup”, an annual competition between Middle and Inner Temple putting on an hour of Shakespeare plays either side of an interval. The productions are judged by a panel of distinguished Judges from stage and screen.
This year’s winning performance was a stripped back but moving version of “The Tempest” with Inner putting on a sparkling performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Best Actor honours was shared by our own Crispian Cartwright as a magisterial Prospero. Thomas Mallon and Tom Chaimberlain directed. Production design by Elli Brooks
Many thanks to Inner Temple for hosting this year. The mantle of hosting the Shakespeare Cup passes to Middle Temple in May 2025. Please save the date
