Full Title: Professor Imelda MaherCategory: Honorary Bencher Bench Call Date: 12.2.2019 Bio: Imelda Maher is the inaugural Sutherland Full Professor of European Law at the UCD Sutherland School of Law and is currently the Dean of Law. She is an elected Member of the Royal Irish Academy where she was formerly the Polite Literature and Antiquities Secretary. A former President of the Society of Legal Scholars in the UK and Ireland, her scholarship is concerned with the law and governance of the EU and with competition law. Her most recent book (with Dermot Hodson) explores the complexity of treaty ratification in the EU Member States and her current book project is on the internationalization of competition law. Having been an academic in England for 16 years before returning to Ireland in 2006 from the LSE, she has a keen interest in the relationship between the two jurisdictions. |
