Full Title: Sir Geoffrey Palmer KCCategory: Honorary Bencher Bench Call Date: 9.2.2016 Bio: Sir Geoffrey Palmer KC was admitted to the Bar in 1966. He was a law professor in the United States and New Zealand for some years before entering politics. In Parliament he held the offices of Attorney-General, Minister of Justice, Leader of the House and Deputy Prime Minister. He served as the 33rd Prime Minister of New Zealand from August 1989 to September 1990. He was responsible for reforms of the country’s legal and constitutional framework. Sir Geoffrey is a member of Her Majesty’s Privy Council and was formerly President of the New Zealand Law Commission.
