Full Title: John McDougall KCCategory: Honorary Bencher Bench Call Date: 20.11.2013 Bio: John Lorn McDougall is an independent arbitrator associated with Arbitration Place in Toronto and 3 Verulam Buildings in London. He is presently partner emeritus with Dentons Canada LLP. His practice has encompassed almost all aspects of corporate and commercial dispute resolution and has particular experience in securities, competition and energy-related matters, class actions and insolvency, as well as extensive experience in cross-border cases involving multinational clients. Mr. McDougall has served as chairman of the Canadian National Arbitration Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce and is presently a Canadian representative to the ICC Commission on Arbitration in Paris. He is a member of a number of other panels of international arbitrators including the London Court of International Arbitration, International Centre for Dispute Resolution where he sits on the ICDR Canadian Advisory Committee, the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution, American Arbitration Association, Arbitration Association of Ontario, the ADR Chambers of Toronto and the panel of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration. He is an honorary overseas member of the Commercial Bar Association of England and Wales, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a chartered arbitrator.
