Masters of the Bench

Master Geidt has been a Crossbench member of the House of Lords since 2017. Until 2022 he was a Permanent Lord-in-Waiting to the late Queen Elizabeth II, and for one year the Prime Minister's Independent Adviser on Ministers' Interests. After an earlier career in military and diplomatic service, Master Geidt had been a member of the Royal Household since 2002, serving for ten years as the late Queen’s Private Secretary and Keeper of her Archives (2007-2017). He was appointed to the Privy Council in 2007.
