Full Title: The Rt Hon Sir Declan MorganCategory: Honorary Bencher Bench Call Date: 8.2.2012 Bio: Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland (NI) since June 2009, Declan Morgan was educated at Cambridge, and Queen’s University, Belfast. Called to the Bar in NI in 1976, he took Silk in 1993. From 2002 to 2004, he was Senior Crown Counsel for NI. He also served for a time as Judge-In-Residence at the School of Law of Queen’s University, Belfast. In 2004, he was appointed a judge of the High Court. He became Chairman of the Law Reform Advisory Committee for NI that same year, and in 2007 was appointed Chairman of the NI Law Commission. In 2007, he was appointed to the Family Division of the Court, and in 2008 moved to hearing cases for judicial review. |
