She was awarded a CBE by the British government for her work on electricity reforms and has advised over 28 governments and the World Bank on privatisation and energy reforms. She was President of The Law Society of England and Wales in 2006-2007. Fiona Woolf is the Alderman for the Ward of Candlewick (Sheriff 2010/11) in the City of London and a past President of the Law Society of England and Wales. She is a Member of the Competition Commission, a Senior Adviser with London Economics International LLP, a non-executive director of Affinity Water Ltd, a trustee of Raleigh International, the Lord Mayor's Appeal and Chairman of the Chelsea Opera Group Trust. She is a member of the Council of The London Regiment of the Territorial Army. Fiona studied Law at Keele University and earned a Diploma in Comparative Law from the University of Strasbourg. She qualified as a solicitor in 1973 and worked in the corporate and banking fields at Clifford Chance. She became a partner in CMS Cameron McKenna in 1981. She was awarded a Senior Fellowship at Harvard University in 2001/2. She has been awarded honorary doctorates by Keele University and the College of Law. Fiona was selected by The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) as a recipient of the 2011 TIAW World of Difference 100 Awards. |
