Masters of the Bench

Justice Lemons was educated at the University of Virginia, where he later taught as Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of Law.  After some years in private practice, he first served as a Judge of the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond in 1995 and since then has risen through the Courts of Virginia to the State Supreme Court.  Since 2000, he has been Distinguished Professor of Judicial Studies at Washington & Lee University School of Law.  He is currently the President of the American Inns of Court.  Justice Lemons has a close association with the Inn: he attended the Virginia Charter Celebrations in London in 2006, hosted MT members in Jamestown in 2007, gave a Guest Lecture on the Rule of Law in Hall in 2007, and participated in the 2011 American Inns of Court Amity Visit to the Middle Temple.
