Full Title: David Mildon KCCategory: Ordinary Bencher Bench Call Date: 12.2.2019 Call Date: 24.7.1980 Bio: David was called to the Bar in 1980 and took Silk in 2000. His practice covers a wide range of international arbitration, commercial litigation and international dispute resolution. When he commenced practice his emphasis was on shipping work. During the privatisations of the 1980s he developed an interest in sectors which had ceased to be state monopolies and where new fields of dispute resolution and regulatory work were emerging. In recent years his main fields of practice have included oil, gas and electricity litigation. He has a particular interest in the contractual and regulatory consequences of climate change, including carbon trading and the certification of renewables for trading purposes. Many of the economic and policy changes which led him to develop these interests have since been replicated elsewhere. His energy work has become international. He has sat on gas price reviews in Scandinavia, on electricity transmission arbitrations in central Europe and in the Far East, on financial panels in Portugal and on disciplinary tribunals in the UK financial sector. He served on the committee of the LCLCBA for many years and as treasurer trustee of an environmental charity based in the Thames valley. |
