Full Title: Michael Jones KCCategory: Ordinary Bencher Bench Call Date: 13.7.2021 Call Date: 28.7.1995 Bio: A former pupil from a comprehensive school in Caerphilly, South Wales, Mike was Called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 1995. Twice a "Reveller" as both a writer and performer, he completed pupillage and practised from Chambers in South Wales. In 2009, he was selected from the self-employed Bar by the Crown Prosecution Service to become its first ever Senior Crown Advocate in Wales. In 2018 he was appointed Queen’s Counsel, the first to have done so in the history of the Crown Prosecution Service in Wales and only the third ever QC appointment from within the Crown Prosecution Service since its inception in 1986. Mike is a Middle Temple Student Sponsor, an annual contributor to the Middle Templar magazine, a Member of both the Membership Committee and the Employed Bar Steering Group and Secretary of the Middle Temple Wales Circuit Society (President – Lord Lloyd-Jones). He is also Vice Chair of the Employed Bar Committee of the Bar Council and Chairman of the Welsh Assembly Parliamentary Rugby XV, which, amongst other matches, plays its annual rugby fixture, home and away, against the Commons & Lords XV.
