Full Title: Adrian Hughes KCCategory: Ordinary Bencher Bench Call Date: 24.11.2015 Call Date: 26.7.1984 Bio: Adrian went to Warwick School and read law at Wadham College, Oxford. Before starting at the Bar, he served for five years in the Royal Navy during which he spent 6 months on a joint services expedition to Antarctica. He practises from 39 Essex Chambers, concentrating mainly on commercial and construction work with a particular focus on international arbitration. He also sits as arbitrator and mediator for a broad range of international commercial disputes. He is a recent chairman of the UK Society of Construction Law. Throughout his time at the Bar he has promoted relations between the Bar and foreign legal professions. He chairs the Bar Council’s China committee and has run the successful training scheme for young Chinese lawyers since its inception. He taught part time at LSE when starting practice and has been involved with advocacy and moot training for students and young barristers through the Inn. Married with 3 children, when he has time he plays racket sports and enjoys exploration and photography.
