Christiane Valansot read English at Manchester College, Oxford.  She was called to the Bar in 1989 and became a Bencher in 2015.  She practices as an in-house barrister in financial services.  She was Chairman of the Bar Association for Commerce, Finance and Industry from 2007-2010; and a Member of the Bar Council from 2007-2010.
