Full Title: His Honour Judge Medland KCCategory: Ordinary Bencher Bench Call Date: 26.3.2018 Call Date: 15.10.1991 Bio: Simon Medland was born in Liverpool and educated at Mostyn House School and Wrekin College. After reading history at Hull University he took the GDL at City University. Called in 1991, he was a criminal practitioner throughout his career. He was at 23 Essex Street until 1999 and then moved back to Cheshire to Linenhall Chambers, Chester.
He was appointed a Recorder in 2005. He took Silk in 2011 and moved to Exchange Chambers, Liverpool. Now a Circuit Judge, he sits at Preston Crown Court.
He is looking forward to supporting, encouraging and training student and young members, especially on the Northern Circuit. He also hopes perhaps to renew his love of (very) amateur theatricals, which started as an incorrigible performer in Revels, acting in The Prince of Love for Master Arlidge and in many BTS plays, including the 400th anniversary production of The Comedy of Errors. He loves music, playing the organ at Great Budworth church; loves his native Cheshire where he lives with his wife and children, rarely refuses a glass of wine, is a very moderate golfer and shot, and supports Tranmere Rovers.
