Event Details

An interactive session discussing equality and diversity issues that can arise in the course of pupillage and practice at the Bar and how to address them. Some of the Inn’s leading discrimination practitioners and judges will guide participants through a number of discussion problems which should be prepared and researched in advance.

Please ensure that you prepare in good time. Details of the preparation required in advance of this session is available below.

PREPARATION

The Inn runs this workshop on multiple occasions each year. You are only permitted to attend this training once. If you attend this event having already attended a previous session the QS point will not be counted towards the requirement for Call to the Bar. The Education Department reserves the right to cancel your booking.

Learning Aims

After this session, students should be able to:

  • Recognise the core duties that are engaged in particular equality and diversity situations.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of when and how to challenge any lack of equal opportunity.
  • Analyse practical scenarios and formulate steps which promote equality and diversity.

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 09:00 two working days before the event. 

Members of Middle Temple can buy tickets online. Please note that you must log in first (if you have not yet created a login please register first). Alternatively, you can buy tickets from the Treasury Office by calling 020 7427 4800.

Members of other Inns, where applicable (please refer to 'Who can Attend'), can buy tickets from the Treasury Office by calling 020 7427 4800. Online booking is not available.

Cancellations: Where we have a waiting list we will offer your ticket to someone else, so please do cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend.
