The Finance & Resources Committee’s main responsibility is to advise Parliament and its Standing Committees on matters affecting the finances of the Inn.

The Committee also has responsibility for: -

  • Monitoring the financial position of the Inn during the course of the year and preparation of the annual financial statements;
  • The preparation of an annual budget;
  • The preparation and review of the Inn’s medium-term financial projections;
  • Approval and review of the Inn’s investment policy and monitoring the performance of investments;
  • Approval and development of the Inn’s remuneration policies and practices;
  • Oversight of the management of the catering services provided by the Inn;
  • Oversight of the management of commercial events within the Inn, including filming, merchandising, and other commercial activities, including the development of such activities;
  • Oversight of the management of the Inn’s Information Technology resources and the development of such resources;
  • Monitoring of the Inn’s asset register;
  • Monitoring and review of the Inn’s arrangements for business continuity management;
  • Oversight of the management of the Inn’s records;
  • Oversight of the Inn’s compliance with data protection legislation;
  • Oversight of the Risk Register insofar as it relates to the responsibilities of the committee;
  • Oversight of the Inn’s insurance arrangements; and
  • Liaison with the Trustees of the Middle Temple Pension & Assurance Scheme and the Middle Temple Trust Funds

The Director of Finance & Corporate Services is the Secretary to the Committee.
