Middle Templar wins the Bar Council’s Law Reform Essay Competition

Congratulations to Middle Templars, Wasim Iqbal and Jessikah Inaba who won and were runner-up respectively in the Bar Council’s Law Reform Essay Competition 2025.


Wasim, a Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholar won with his essay, 'Invisible violence: restoring the sight of the Online Safety Act 2023'. He said, "As a Middle Temple Scholar, winning the Law Reform Essay Competition reflects what the Inn does best: backing talent wherever it’s based".


Jessikah whose essay, 'Feeling beyond the box: a braille-centric proposal for UK-EU labelling reform'. For Jessikah, "Writing the essay was deeply meaningful to me as it brought together my lived experience as a blind barrister with my commitment to law reform and accessibility".
