Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, which have the exclusive right to Call their members to the Bar of England & Wales, i.e., to admit those who have fulfilled the necessary qualifications to the degree of Barrister, which entitles them, after a period of vocational training, to practise as Barristers. The Inn is a professional membership organisation as well as a property landlord with a substantial property portfolio in central London. The estate consists of an interesting and historically important collection of buildings ranging from Middle Temple Hall built in 1570 through to post war properties constructed in sympathetic style in the 1950s. A large number of the buildings are listed and together with associated courtyards and gardens, all sit within ‘The Temple’ conservation area.

In this fulltime role (37.5 hrs p/w) the Lodgings Housekeeping Supervisor will lead a small team of staff with full responsibility to ensure that the lodgings are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. This will also include management of the small in-house laundry service providing clean bed linen for use in the lodgings. The job will entail occasional weekend working as staff availability and bookings dictate for which overtime will be paid.

You would be the ideal candidate if, you have experience working in a hotel-style environment and are confident supervising a small housekeeping team. 

You take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness—from daily room upkeep to laundry and minor repairs—and you’re comfortable managing stock and supplies.

You’re organised, proactive, and able to manage your workload independently checking bookings, coordinating with facilities, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You’re also confident using Microsoft Office and communicating clearly with colleagues at all levels.

You bring a positive, collaborative attitude to your team, are open to learning new skills, and flexible when needed to support the wider service.
