Tom Owen KC was called to the Bar in 2011 and took Silk in 2024.
Born in Nottingham, he is the third son of Anna Owen and HH Robert Owen KC. Tom was educated at Grosvenor School (1994-1997), Fairfield Preparatory School (1997-2000) and Loughborough Grammar School (2000-2007). Tom read law at Downing College Cambridge (2007-2010), supervised by the late Master Hopkins. He was a Queen Mother Scholar and recipient of the Baron Ver Heyden de Lancey Prize. Tom undertook the Bar Course at Nottingham Law School (2010-2011). He was the recipient of the Lord Taylor Prize for advocacy.
After completing pupillage (2011-2012), Tom became a tenant at Keating Chambers (2012-current). His first Head of Chambers was the late Master Darling. Tom specialises in litigation, arbitration and appeals concerning construction, energy, and related disputes.
Tom was appointed as a Recorder in 2022 and sits in crime and civil.
Tom was elected as a Bencher in 2025.
