 The beauty of the piano as an instrument lies with
 in its range of colour: the ability to re-create t
 he sound-world of any ensemble – whether it be a s
 ymphony orchestra\, string quartet or solo voice. 
 This programme highlights the instrument’s capacit
 y for singing\, exploring fantasy pieces across hu
 ndreds of years: from the intimate musings of Hayd
 n and Schumann to song transcriptions by Liszt and
  Thomas Ades\, culminating in the proud declamatio
 ns of Chopin’s great Polonaise-Fantaisie.&nbsp\;</
 p>\n \n <p><b>About the performer</b></p>\n \n <p>
 Described by Peter Donohoe CBE as having “the pote
 ntial to become a major voice in the classical mus
 ic world\,” Madeleine Brown is emerging as one of 
 the most compelling young pianists of her generati
 on. A graduate of Trinity College\, Cambridge\, sh
 e now studies with Kathryn Stott at the Royal Nort
 hern College of Music\, where she won the prestigi
 ous Gold Medal Competition and was awarded the RNC
 M Silver Medal by the Worshipful Company of Musici
 ans.</p>\n \n <p>Madeleine has achieved internatio
 nal recognition\, including first prize at the 202
 5 Bromsgrove International Musicians’ Competition\
 , and further honours in Vigo and the Royal Overse
 as League Competition. An accomplished concerto so
 loist\, she has won major competitions at both RNC
 M and Cambridge. Highlights this season include de
 buts at Wigmore Hall\, the Royal Concert Hall Nott
 ingham\, and on BBC Radio 3’s&nbsp\;In Tune.</p>\n
